part of the Jimi Hendrix memorial at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, Washington. Part of the installation consists of song lyrics in Jimi's handwriting - and a shocking number of lipstick kisses on the stone wall above them.

The sign at original Ivar's, on pier 54 next to the ferry terminal on the waterfront in downtown Seattle. The airplane in the upper right corner was an accident. The seagulls hang out here and will take food right out of your hand or swoosh in and grab it out of the air with frightening accuracy.

An apparently less than literate fan of Michael Jackson left their sentiments on the steps outside the Experience Music Project, an impromptu memorial location after his death. The steps are concrete - the pink color is a reflection from the purple wall (named after Jimi Hendrix' famous song, Purple Haze) that is a part of the building designed by Frank Gehry.

walking up the stairs from the Science Fiction Museum to the Experience Music Project at the Seattle Center at the base of Queen Anne hill at the north end of downtown Seattle. The building was designed by Frank Gehry and the color refraction off the ceiling and outside of the museum is a constantly changing art installation.

Inside the EMP (Experience Music Project Museum) at the Seattle Center. This is a sculpture made almost entirely from guitars, as well as a few other musical instruments thrown in there. It appears to be exploding from the ground twenty feet upwards. The sculpture plays music by using various instruments that are a part of the sculpture and was created by the artist Trimpin. It is called "If VI was IX: Roots and Branches"

This is inside the Experience Music Project, a joint effort with the Science Fiction Museum, located at the Seattle Center. This area of the museum, called the Sky Church, has a constantly changing light show on one wall that is set to music.

This sculpture is at the Seattle Center, the park at the north end of downtown that houses the Space Needle, among other things, which you can see through the sculpture. It was done by Alexander Liberman and is titled Olympic Iliad.

I may have posted this before, but I love this picture. Taken at Snoqualmie Falls, on the hike down to the base of the falls.

View from the south end of the viewing platform atop the Space Needle. That would be Mt. Rainier in the background. On the right side, the two parallel "bridges" are on top of Qwest Field, where the Seahawks play. The Rainier Valley is between downtown and Mt. Rainier.

One of the outer Pike Place Market signs....arguably not as famous as THE sign, but I like it nonetheless. It's directly above Rachel, the infamous pig.

This sign is inside Pike Place Market. I try to get a picture every time I go to the market, but have yet to get one that makes me really happy. The Loback Meat Company no longer exists, to my knowledge, but the sign is pretty awesome.

I know it looks kind of gross, but there it is. Octopus freely (well, not exactly free) available at Pike Place Market.

Did you know you can have a picnic lunch on top of Safeco Field? Even if you have tickets for the cheap seats. Looking south, you can see Mt. Rainier in the distance.
